Jason and Melanie Price along with best friend Joe Ring cooked for friends and family for years as a traditional, annual backyard barbecue. That annual tradition turned into a passion for these three when they decided to try out the competitive circuit entering their first KCBS sanctioned competition at the Pro level at SF BBQ Festival 2016. They loaded up a trailer filled with four backyard Oklahoma Joe smokers, a pile of wood and charcoal and a hap-hazard collection of mismatched tents and tools to set up shop for their first KCBS competition which included participating in the People's Choice category. They didn't win any prizes but were hooked! Jason decided hauling all that equipment was not for him so putting his welding skills to work, spent the winter of 2017 building the smoke rig you see above. Spring and Summer 2017 were spent making new barbecue friends, cooking for hundreds of enthusiasts at four KCBS Barbecue challenges and embarking on a new adventure, Competitive Barbecue!! Their claim to fame for the season was taking 1st Place for the People's Choice rib challenge at the 2017 Garlic Festival Garlic-Que Challenge.

Why Bar-B-Cuda BBQ and why such a loud shade of green? Our team and now company name is coined after Jason's love of his very first car, a 1970 Barracuda painted Mopar Limelight Green.
